The entertainment industry which was back then a solace for many is now turning into something way different than we know.
We wake up to new artistes flooding our radio and television stations with uncensored contents and it seems everyone is cool about it.
Not so long ago, we were splashed in the face with Ebony, a young talented act who gave us the ‘Poison’ Banger. Truthfully, the song made waves but let’s put the liquor aside and delve deep, “Gatdoe’s” verse: the guy was literally blathering sex positions in our faces and no one seems to care.
The reigning King of Rap in Ghana, Sarkodie recently collaborated with Kurl Songx to bring us the Jennifer Lomotey piece and clearly some heads got pissed.
Social media played its part and Krobo youth also gave their piece of mind. But honestly, if there was a working censorship board all this hullabaloo will subsidize. Movies are made day in and out and the cover photos are half naked pictures of actresses and actors, which the young look up to as mentors and idols.
Take a look at the next generation, all they know is sex, alcohol, more sex and yep more alcohol. Majority out there are not concerned but a collective few of us are. Your voice and mine are enough to spark another mind to join the battle against excessive nudity in our entertainment industry. Let’s help shape a proper future.
