Highlife legend Ernest ‘Owoahene’ Nana Acheampong, popularly known as Nana Acheampong has disclosed on Entertainment Capital on Accra FM that he hasn’t been celebrated enough as an artiste of his status for his contributions to the music industry in Ghana.
The legend also known as ‘Champion Lover boy’ has asked the necessary bodies to honour him for his exceptional contributions to the growth of ‘burger highlife’ in the country. Though he doesn’t have anything in mind, he believes the necessary stakeholders or music bodies can do something for him to show appreciation and honour.
Nana Acheampong who is known for hit songs like ‘Obaatan’, ‘Na Anka Ebeye Den’, ‘Meko Odo Enkyen’, ‘Nnaada Me’, ‘Maye Obi Dea’ and a whole lot more has also lamented over royalties he receives from GHAMRO. He made it so clear that GHAMRO virtually gives him nothing as an artiste and he feels so sad about it.
According to him, his absence here in Ghana has also contributed to some of these occurrences saying that he is back in the country from Europe and that his team would monitor every activity that concerns him as an artiste.
The legend disclosed working on a song with Shatta Wale so as to appeal to the current and young generation. He already has a song with Bisa Kdei titled ‘Fre No Ma Me’ and the very latest track with Guru titled ‘My Baby’.
