Ghana and Africa in general are grateful to God for not only blessing us with natural resources but with amazing people with extra ordinary talent who are ready to make our customs and culture proud.
Our forefathers in their bid to entertain their people crafted a unique genre called ‘high-life’ and have since given birth to wonderful talents of which Kwabene Adepa is no exception. Putting high-life on its deserved pedestal, Richard Atieku popularly known as Kwabena Adepa after penetrating deep into the hearts of Ghanaians with his ‘Makoma so adie’ hit single released in February this year is back but this time, hosting two other celebrated musicians Kumi Guitar and YaaPono.
With this latest banger ‘Atia’ produced by Kin Dee which is already eyeing for an award in this year’s Ghana Music Awards (VGMA’s), the trio namely Kwabena Adepa, Kumi Guitar and YaaPono on this danceable tune projected our highly valued customs and traditions honoring our beautiful women of who’s love and compassion we live happily. The song which lays emphasis on appreciating one’s partner and how valuable women are in our societies though new, is the Paul of our time looking at how it’s being held in high esteem by our DJ’s, clearly indicates that, KwabenaA depa has indeed arrived and has come to stay.
In a chat with the MAKOMA SO ADIE hit maker, the singer stated that, he might be very young and though he is not here to compete with anyone, he is a threat to his competitors.
“I have a unique style, a style that always makes me stand tall among my colleague high-lifers.And as the saying goes ‘ Not to know is bad but not to wish to know is the worse’, most of these high-life musicians know the substance I am made of when it comes to music composition but have decided to bury my talent because they felt I was a threat to them and their careers as musicians. Though they tried, their success wasn’t for too long because God’s appointed time is always the best. I am back and this time with more energy and wisdom and I can boldly say that, I will be the one to redeem our high-life genre and will make it very expensive for the westerners,” Kwabena Adepa stated.
