The spirit man as he is affectionately called, Ernest Opoku Junior has willingly trained and supported most popular gospel musicians we see today and adding to the list is Eric Boakye A.K.A Ericus Paapa.
Gospel minister Ernest Opoku Junior who always seems to be soaring higher each passing day after his triumphant entry into the gospel music industry is an asset not only to his family but to the new crop of artistes who struggle to come out as gospel musicians.
People of Oseikrom can attest to the fact that, the current most trending gospel song is Eric’s ‘MASEDA NIE’ which was recently launched at the Mamponten Assemblies of God, Kumasi.
The song was an instant hit few days after its release, though Ericus did amazingly well on the song, Ernest did his usual magic on the song with his unique voice by way of feature and I should confess that alone shot Ericus Paapa to fame. In an interview with Flex newspaper, the ‘GYIDI NII’ singer, Ernest Opoku Junior explained that, it is always a pleasure to lend a helping hand to these up and coming ones as he doesn’t want them to go through the ordeal he went through as an up and coming musician;
“I don’t want these up and coming musicians to go through what I have been through as a musician and so, anytime I see a young musician who has the passion to preach the gospel through music, I am willing to help him. I don’t want to mention names but most of these young and popular Gospel musicians we see today went through my training and guidance and it’s always a pleasure doing that” he explained.
When asked why Ericus Paapa this time around, he said; ” Ericus is a great talent and when I saw his efforts as a young musician, I decided to give him that help and I believe you can attest to the fact that doing that has helped his career a lot and I am happy for him. I would like to encourage other big musicians to do same as it is the only way to winning more souls into the kingdom of God” he added.
His latest single ‘LADDER’ is out and as usual, it is a song to look up to in these last days.
