Ghanaian music group Galaxy, who were formally under Harbour City Records, had their breakup with the record label which groomed them from underground to main stream of the music industry with many hit songs weeks ago.
Even though the music group isn’t working with the record label, they still see their formal record label which is Harbour City Records as the best record label in Ghana currently, because of what they did for them as musicians.
In a chat with Flex newspaper, Galaxy revealed that, they had no problems with their formal management before and after their contract with the label and they appreciate everything they did for them. This is because the record label has helped them to get recognition in the Ghanaian music industry and the world at large.
“Being with record label is like being with your parents. You can’t be with them for ever. You will surely move on in life to see the new challenges that will come your way. So after our six years contract with harbour city we all agreed to partway and face the challenges in the music industry and it doesn’t mean we had problems, we still go to them for advice which will help our musical career” they stated.
Galaxy continued to promise Ghanaians of splendid composition though they are no more with the old record label. The ‘Papabi’ hit makers added that, they will sign on to a new record label but not for now. Even though calls are coming to their camp from different record labels, they would rather work without any management until later. Many music group in Ghana got breakup along the way after they changed their management or got hit songs that put them in the lime light of the music industry but this music group has come out to say that, they will never breakup no matter the circumstances.
Galaxy further outlined some problems that cause breakup between artiste and management, where they stressed on unity as the main factor. They believe once there isn’t unity between the said parties, obviously there would be a breakup.
They advised musicians especially those in groups to stay united, because it will take them far.
