Cliq Multimedia last Friday launched the maiden edition of the Cliq Awards at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Accra. Cliq Awards is a unique event that seeks to reward hardworking, artistic and innovative practitioners in the photography and videography industry.
At the ceremony, NanahemaaAdwoaAwindor Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Premier Productions who spoke as one of the special guests promised a better award scheme. “We never dreamt that a day like this will ever come when such trailblazers will receive some applause to their efforts, commitment and love for this artistic profession. It has been a long wait and it is great to see so many enthusiastic personalities here supporting such a good cause and I must say we are delighted” She said.
“Each year, the Photography and Videography Awards – Ghana, dubbed Cliq Awards shall stage professional and amateur competitions for image capture practitioners and enthusiasts in Ghana. A five member jury of eminent persons shall sit to review and select out of the submissions made, three competing candidates in each category of the awards” She added.
Speaking on how to participate, she said, “Photographers must submit a minimum of 5 and a minimum of 10 images to be entered into the competition. Videographers will be required to enter not more than two videos. All submissions must have a series of descriptions and any other comments from the entrant including a category of choice. The highlight of the competition of the award will be the Cliq Photographer and Videographer of the Year.
Cliq Awards is open to photographers and videographers across the country, with various experiences, backgrounds and ages. The organizers of the awards scheme announced that, they shall use part of the proceeds from the main event to support autism in the country.
