We don’t want to be part of the few who have doubts that our showbiz industry will grow and get better in the near future.
Several conversations have been on going about how the showbiz industry is sitting on time bomb about to blow to kill the players in it. Fortunately for us and unfortunately for them (naysayers), we have seen something they have not seen and we are holding on to it firmly like never before.
One thing most of our annual award event organizers forget is leaving every action about the scheme untouched until it`s time for another calender. To us at Flex newspaper, we wish they will do more than just waiting for the events date before they activate their programmes and activities.
Until last week that the RTP was launched, we in the entertainment industry never heard anything about the Radio and Television awards and this we think should be improved upon in making the industry function well. What happened to all these awards schemes after the events were held? Ghana Music Awards is silent at the moment because Charter House is doing nothing about it. Ghana Movie Awards known to be owned by Zylofon Media currently is also on the quiet because Zylofon Media has not started anything about it yet.
Ignace Hego`s 4Syte Music Video Awards is not doing much despite they having a 24hour television channel being followed by many youthful enthusiasts in the country.
Bass Awards is not playing any shows to unravel new fashion in the genre. The list of the award event organizers can go on and on and the results will still be the same, that they are sleeping waiting for the scheme calender before they will gallivant all over Ghana for attention. Being proactive is sometimes better than being reactive and we want all our awards event organizers to be ahead of the times to win more.
